Strange though it may seem, not least because whipping out an expensive piece of hardware on public transport is a good way to get yourself mugged, new research suggests that most commuters want on-train Wi-Fi:
The research, commissioned by Broadreach, also reveals that 78% of passengers would use a Wi-Fi service if it were available.
In relation to charges, respondents expressed a willingness to pay either £5 per hour of usage or a flat fee of up to £8 for journeys of less than two hours, with this rising to £12 for longer trips. How can almost 80% of commuters want Wi-Fi when the majority of people wouldn't know what it is in the first place?
On the flip side, the more coverage the better. More @
