Bulldog Launches SME SDSL Services

Posted: 25th Mar, 2004 By: MarkJ
UK ISP Bulldog Communications has today touted its broadband SDSL (Symmetric - same speed both ways) services for small, medium and corporate enterprises across the country:

Bulldog Delivers High-Speed SDSL Services Direct to Small Businesses

Bulldog Communications, the UK’s high-speed broadband specialist, today launched its high-speed symmetric DSL (SDSL) broadband services direct to small to medium enterprise (SME) and corporate enterprises across the UK. Based on the growing demand for its specialised SDSL services, Bulldog now offers a full range of customised business broadband solutions through its direct business channel. Bulldog continues to offer its SDSL services through its network of wholesale and reseller partners.

Bulldog’s robust SDSL services, are available at speeds up to 4 Mbps and in 5:1 or 1:1 uncontended formats, giving dedicated bandwidth to a single customer, whilst retaining the security that traditional leased lines provide. (BT only offers speeds up to 2 Mbps and a 10:1 contention ratio).

Bulldog’s SDSL services, priced from £100.41* per month, are available across London through its Local Loop Unbundled (LLU) network, the South East, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Yorkshire, the West Midlands and Scotland, potentially reaching some 350,000 businesses.

Richard Greco, CEO of Bulldog said "Bulldog’s high-speed SDSL services give our SME customers cost-effective access to technologies and applications that were previously out of their reach because of cost. These include rolling out secure virtual private networks, hosting their own email or web servers and uploading large data files. We plan to increase the geographical coverage of our SDSL services over the next 12 months and, in doing so, we will continue to provide business customers with a greater opportunity to embrace the price-performance and business benefits offered by high-speed SDSL services.”

Based on its SDSL technology Bulldog offers an IP Leased Line service, a secure alternative to traditional leased lines at a fraction of the cost, with prices starting from just £162.50* a month (based on a 12 month contract), with a one-off fully managed install fee of £1,595*, which includes a Cisco router with inbuilt firewall. They offer a dedicated connection to the Internet at speeds up to 4 Mbps, service level guarantees of 99.9% network availability and 24x7 fault reporting (with 4 business hour response to fault) ensuring maximum service availability.

Bulldog’s SDSL services available at speeds up to 4 Mbps, in the 5:1 and 1:1 contended formats, provide a fast, always-on connection direct to the Internet for maximum speed and availability of web content. They are ideal for technically competent businesses that want to develop their own network infrastructure. Prices start from as little as £100.41* a month (based on a 12 month contract) and a one-off connection fee of £495* (or the option of a fully managed install for £1,595*).

As well as high-speed broadband services Bulldog also offers a wide range of value add solutions.

For organisations that are serious about running their business online, Bulldog’s Unix® and Windows® 2000 Web Hosting solutions, which cost as little as £9.95* per month, ensure companies get the ideal package to maximise their online presence and provide all the tools that are needed to get businesses online, from domain registration and providing web space to multimedia functionality. All Bulldog’s web hosting solutions are monitored 24x7 to guarantee optimum availability of web sites and are backed-up daily to protect web site data. They are ideal for novice users or small or large businesses coming online or to broadband for the first time.

Bulldog’s My Office is a completely hosted solution for email, web site and groupware, all under a business’ own domain name (i.e. www.another.com). It removes the pain and expense of managing IT systems and gives employees the freedom to conduct business whether they are in the office, at home, in a hotel or at a Wi-Fi hotspot. Bulldog’s My Office is ideal for any business or group that needs to share knowledge and information amongst members or teams, including Industry groups and forums or remote workers or virtual teams. Prices start from just £3.99* per month.

And now Bulldog business customers can connect to a high-speed Bulldog broadband Internet connection via the D-Link DVC-1000, enabling users to video conference over the Internet within minutes, bringing colleagues closer together for a fraction of the cost. What’s more, the previously complicated process of conducting real-time video conferencing now becomes a matter of simplicity.
