Ipsos-Insight has posted the results from their annual study of Internet trends, which found that global Wi-Fi usage increased by 145% during 2003 (79 million unique users):
The study, based on interviews in 13 key markets with more than 7,100 adults, concluded that wireless internet is poised to prosper substantially over the next few years.
It found that 134 million people have tried or used some form of wireless internet through a mobile device, representing 40% of the total Internet population in the study's measured countries.Sadly wireless, especially many public Wi-Fi hotspots, are still far from secure, affordable or easy to use.
