Onyx Internet has today sent us a new press release announcing a series of new campaigns to help businesses and individual users access broadband Internet services:
ONYX INTERNET LAUNCHING NEW CAMPAIGNS TO PROMOTE BROADBAND IN REGIONS MARKET TOWNS
Leading north east business Internet Service Provider (ISP) Onyx Internet is launching a series of new campaigns to help businesses and individual users access broadband Internet services in nine of the regions rural communities
The campaigns, to be run in conjunction with Regional Development Agency One NorthEast, aim to help enable more than 2,000 new businesses and people across the region to access broadband before the end of the year.
Different activities will be undertaken according to each areas specific needs and current broadband capacity. The first elements of the campaign are being launched this week in Hexham, Morpeth and Bishop Auckland, all of which are either already broadband-enabled or will be in the near future.
The first 350 customers in each of these communities will be able to claim both a free ADSL modem worth over £100 and free broadband set-up, which would normally cost £60.
The six other communities to benefit from the new campaign will be Alnwick, Barnard Castle, Berwick, Guisborough, Crook and Trimdon. Work in these areas will aim to provide broadband connectivity in the optimum way for each area, with the free modem and set-up made available to local people and companies as soon as this is achieved.
The campaigns are a continuation of the activities of the North East Broadband Initiative (NEBI), as part of which Onyx has worked with One NorthEast, BT and http://www.n-e-life.com, the regions unique electronic community.
