Digital Download Day, which was planned by music company OD2, has been heralded as one of the biggest and most successful legal music giveaway schemes ever.
So successful was the project that a second Digital Download Day was planned and had been expected to start this week, unfortunately it's now been delayed:
Organisers made the decision to delay the giveaway so more tunes could be available to download.
More than 40,000 music fans in the UK have already pre-registered with the Digital Download Day website. You get £3 worth of free tracks to stream, download or burn on to CD.
More than 150,000 tracks from 7,000 artists, such as Ms Dynamite, Eminem and David Grey, will now be accessible free of charge at sites including HMV, Tiscali, Freeserve and MTV from 9 to 16 April.Wed expect that most people would be happy to wait so long as the greater choice is indeed offered.
