UK ISP Glow Internet has, apparently, begun booting some subscribers from its service after they began using it for excessive periods of time.
It's not yet clear how many have been removed from the service, although many of those gone have complained about the ISPs misleading advert - as below:
UNLIMITED INTERNET ACCESS
24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with NO INTERNET CALL CHARGES for only £9.99 a month!
And save 30%* on all your phone calls!
Why pay more with freeserve, AOL and BT Openworld, when you can get so much more for so much less!
See for yourself how much you can save
Unlimited Internet access
BT Openworld / AOL / freeserve
£9.99 / £15.99 / £13.99
Prices correct at time of publishing 09.01.03
Those of you familiar with unmetered usage will know that there's no such thing as 'unlimited' unmetered dialup Internet access, we've explained that enough times now.
That said and it's worth remembering that the majority of people ARE NOT aware of this, indeed even the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has recently come down hard on such advertising.
We'd suggest that any Glow subscribers booted for heavy usage contact the ASA to complain, although you probably shouldnt hold out much hope of a refund.
