Freedom2Surf Launch £40 1Mbps DSL

Posted: 05th Mar, 2003 By: MarkJ
UK ISP Freedom2Surf has followed Internet Central and Nildram by today introducing their own £39.99 per month 1Mbps broadband ADSL service for residential customers:

Freedom2Surf launches 1mb ADSL service for just £39.99 per month

Freedom2Surf Pure IP for Power Users - affordable high-speed broadband access

Freedom2Surf, (www.freedom2surf.net) the UK's leading independent ISP, has today announced that it will be introducing an ultra-fast 1mb ADSL service for residential users across the UK, for just £39.99 a month. The new service will go live at the end of this month and provide broadband users with an Internet connection that is twice as fast as a standard ADSL connection.

Freedom2Surf Pure IP for Power Users has been developed for broadband users who want a faster Internet experience for services such as online gaming and downloading music and video files. Up until now, access to 1mb broadband services at realistic prices has been restricted to those living in central London or areas served by the cable TV operators. Pure IP for Power Users will be available across the UK, giving home users a real alternative to other companies offering high-speed broadband access.

Pure IP for Power Users will be one of the first consumer ADSL services to utilise BT's DataStream network. Using the DataStream network gives Freedom2Surf the ability to control the transfer of large amounts of data more affordably. ISPs can currently connect their network to DataStream allowing them to provide services to around 75 per cent of ADSL enabled exchanges.

Chris Panayis, Managing Director of Freedom2Surf commented, "Freedom2Surf has always committed itself to investing in the latest technology to bring customers the fastest and most affordable Internet services. With the launch of Pure IP for Power Users, Freedom2Surf will again be increasing choice and competition for consumers in need of ultra-fast, low-cost broadband services."

Pure IP for Power Users will be available for just £39.99 (inc. VAT) per month plus a connection fee of £59.99 plus VAT. The package includes a 1mb connection at a 50:1 contention ratio, as well as 20mb of webspace, 5mb of database space and 20 email addresses. Pure IP for Power Users will be available with a minimum contract period of two months.

The new service will be available from the end of this month (March 2003).
