UK ISP Virgin.net has teamed up with Postmasternet to promote its Internet access services across the country:
Under the deal, the ISP's registration CDs will be placed on Post Office counters from 1st March, as it bids to increase its customer base.
Postmasternet, launched in October 2002 to seek out new revenue streams for embattled independent, local Post Offices, negotiated the agreement so that each participating outlet receives a one-off fee for every new customer joining the ISP as a result of the initiative. The
netimperative.info item notes that Virgin.net has over 500,000 subscribers, although the exact figure is unknown.
