Telewest Broadband has extended the reach of its hi-speed blueyonder cable-modem ISP service to Birmingham:

UK's fastest home cable internet connection coming to Bourneville
Telewest Broadband is to upgrade the last remaining analogue part of its network in Birmingham, bringing high speed internet and digital TV services to an additional 60,000 homes.
The cable company is beginning its programme of expansion in October 2003, which will continue, on a street by street basis, until April 2004. Amongst the areas to be upgraded are Bourneville and Kings Norton.
The full range of digital TV, telephone and broadband internet services is being made available to existing customers, to replace existing analogue TV services.
Gavin Patterson, managing director, Telewest Broadband said "Birmingham is at the heart of our UK broadband plans and with this expansion, we are showing our continued commitment to the area.
Customers have been asking us to make broadband services available and we've been keen to satisfy this demand. We will be writing to customers over the coming weeks to tell them the good news."
Telewest Broadband offers a choice of excellent value digital TV and telephone services. The range of blueyonder broadband internet services includes the blisteringly fast 2 Mb - the UK's fastest home cable internet connection - in addition to 1Mb and 512 kbps connections.
The upgrade does not require extensive construction works in the public highways.
