Toshiba's Wi-Fi division is about to sign a deal with the Football League that could see broadband wireless LAN (Wi-Fi) hotspots deployed at football grounds around the country:
The company will install hotspots at Reading FC and Nottingham Forest FC as part of a pilot programme. Assuming the trial is a success, Toshiba anticipates that hotspots will be commercially available throughout the League by January.
Toshiba's hotspots are aimed at photographers, journalists, football fans and business executives, who can use wireless access to read the latest football news via PDAs, upload images and stories to websites, or read corporate email.More @
