BT has lifted restrictions on the router responsible for handing off traffic to Claranets UK ISP customers connecting to adsl-1.uk.clara.net. The router had suffered as a result of the Nachi worm's infection of customers, which caused ICMP requests to bog it down:
We are currently monitoring traffic flows through this ADSL gateway for high ICMP throughput and will be contacting those customers who we believe may be infected with the Nachi worm if their traffic levels are cause for concern.
Once again, if you are running Micrsoft Windows 2000 or Windows XP, please ensure that you have applied all relevant security patches to your computer to prevent the possibility of your being infected with computer viruses exploiting security flaws in your operating system.
