AOL Users Unable To Contact Hotmail

Posted: 04th Sep, 2003 By: MarkJ
Over the past two days many of our AOL UK using readers have reported being unable to contact Microsoft's Hotmail website and its e-mail addresses. The ISP itself has now confirmed the problem, which appears to hamper ALL MSN services:

Technical Support: "If you are currently experiencing problems when trying to access any MSN services please be advised that we are aware of the issue and are working to resolve as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience."

It's been further reported that the reason is due to AOL blocking key port access to MSN services, although exact details are somewhat sketchy.

The good news is that the issue 'should' have been resolved late last night.
