Bulldog Launches New Broadband Portal, My Bulldog, and Complementary Suite of Value-Added Broadband Services
Bulldog Communications, the high-speed broadband specialist and alternative DSL broadband network operator serving both the UK residential and business markets, announced today the launch of My Bulldog (www.my-bulldog.com), a highly personalised web-based portal offering Bulldog customers an impressive range of broadband value-added services.
My Bulldog includes virus-scanned and 'SPAM' protected e-mail, web space, group messaging, web diary, SMS text messaging and more. Subscribers can choose from Personal (single user) or Family (four user) portal account options, priced at £ 2.49 (£ 2.93 inc. VAT) or £ 4.99 (£ 5.86 inc. VAT) per month, respectively, to complement their Bulldog broadband connection. Additional portal accounts are also available at £ 1.69 (£ 1.99 inc. VAT) per month.
The My Bulldog Personal portal comes with a primary My Mail e-mail account with 20 MB of dedicated web-based storage space. The My Bulldog< I>Family portal offers four e-mail accounts sharing a total of 40 MB storage space. E-mail is virus-scanned by Symantec's 'Norton Anti-Virus' engine and further protected from unsolicited e-mail 'SPAM' using a number of filters. My Mail accounts can be accessed directly via a web browser or downloaded to any POP3 or IMAP compliant mail clients (Outlook, EudoraPro), including mobile phones and PDAs.
My Bulldog portal services include My Web, a web-hosting service offering 20 MB of personal web space. My Diary, a web-based diary service, uses the ICAL standard to integrate with e-mail to manage key dates, appointments and tasks. My SMS, enables personal and group SMS text messaging. My Links provides a simple bookmark facility for favourite websites.
In addition, the Family portal offers My Briefcase, with 15 MB of online file storage enabling friends and family to share files from anywhere in the world, and My Messenger, a group messaging service that allows information to be instantly shared with friends and family.
Customers can take advantage of My Bulldog's supplementary service options including personal domain name registration and hosting, plus additional e-mail and web space storage capacity.
Bulldog joins a select set of broadband providers to offer customers access to the BBCi Broadband service, which provides up-to-the-minute BBC news, sport, entertainment and weather information, through a private peering agreement.
All of the above web-based services can be accessed directly by logging in to a personal version of the My Bulldog portal site. Customers can call-up various user-preferences to control the combination and format of the active application windows within their portal.
Jonathan Lishawa, Service Development Manager, stated, "We're delighted to be offering the My Bulldog premium product. We recognise that many of our customers want e-mail, web space, domain name hosting and other web-based applications, as well as access to high-quality broadband content.
