ISP AOL UK has today announced the introduction of a new multiplayer (online) gaming service, which is based off their popular instant messenger (IM) platform:
WildTangent will provide games, backend systems, leaderboards and billing for 'AIM Games', which AOL described as "a natural extension of the social interaction that takes place on AIM".
A wide selection of browser-based arcade, puzzle and multiplayer games will be rolled out onto the AIM platform, which provides users with the ability to chat during gameplay, as well as the opportunity to ask friends on their buddy lists to join them in a spot of online fun. You'll probably be better off playing Quake1, but then who knows.
