New research from the London School of Economics has found that children may use the Internet more than most, yet the way they use it often has little educational advantage (games etc.):
But schools and parents should do more to encourage children to participate in online political discussions and produce their own websites, it added.
Children without internet access at home felt excluded from talking to their fellow pupils, the report added.
However, storylines in television soap operas, such as Coronation Street, had made young computer users more aware of the dangers of paedophiles operating through chat rooms.We can just imagine the joy on the faces of all those young little whipper snappers as they prepare for a lesson of '
