I have had 3 ISPs since the turn of the century after the demise of Tiscali.
1st ISP:
Starts with a T, had dreadful customer service, average speeds, and is currently looking near to financial collapse.
2nd ISP:
Huge fast network based on coax cable. I left due to their extortionate cost, and by the time I left, Just OK speeds.
3rd and current - Community Fibre:
I've been with Community Fibre since summer 2023. I signed up as they first launched on my street with a 150mbps deal for about £20. The install was really good and the installers were great. My only reservation was that they installed the fibre cable from the telegraph pole a bit on the slack side.
As their prices increased a bit, I realised they had much better speed deals for about the same price as I signed up with, so went for a 1gbps deal last year.
My connection has very rarely been down and when it has been, I've been forewarned by them and the outages have been very short.
The setup I have is a bit of a bitsa, but has CAT6 running everywhere for the required devices including 2 APs (re-deployed ISP routers in AP mode). All the PCs get around 850 to 950mbps up/down with good ping times on the CAT6 95% of the time and the same goes for the Android and iPhone minus around 200mbps (depending on distance form AP).
I can't praise this company highly enough.
