The latest website browser statistics, based on monthly data from
StatCounter Global Stats, reveals that Mozilla's Firefox 3 became the most popular browser in Europe last week, overtaking Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) for the first time on a weekly basis. Meanwhile the Worldwide statistics still give IE7 a firm lead over the past 30 days.
It's sad to see that IE6 still has such a showing in the browser market. Speaking as a webmaster, IE6 was a terrible browser due to poor performance and standards compliance; if you're still using it then now is definitely the time to upgrade. IE7 was a lot better and IE8 (just one week old) finally brings a decent choice to the table. Failing to upgrade could lock you out of some websites, content and services.
