Existing customers of Vodafone UK's mobile Internet services will be able to go online for FREE today. The promotion, which only appears to be valid for Internet enabled smartphone users and not USB Modem based Mobile Broadband connections, is designed to promote the operators new 50p per day mobile Internet tariff. Sadly the FREE DAY is only available today and ends tonight.
Vodafone's new pay as you browse day rate tariff allows mobile phone customers to add basic Internet access to their phones for a daily rate of just 50p, which is cheaper than their previous £1 rate. It has also increased the tariffs daily usage limit to 25MB (MegaBytes).
The operator claims that most customers will never reach this limit and calls anybody that exceeds it a "heavy user"; such individuals may be charged for any extra usage above 25MB. Typically this is not uncommon for mobile phone based Internet access, though in comparison to their Mobile Broadband packages it seems incredibly weak.
Eligible Data for the FREE DAY Promotion includes data accessed through pp.Vodafone.co.uk apn and wap.Vodafone.co.uk apn only.
