Three UK Offers Free Mobile Broadband to Prepay Phone Users

Posted: 02nd Jun, 2009 By: MarkJ
Mobile operator Three (3) has announced that all existing prepay customers will be given free texts and Mobile Broadband Internet data usage (150MB) with every top up. Every 3Pay customer will also get free 3-to-3 calls, free Skype calls, free access to voicemail, and be able to use Windows Live Messenger (IM), regardless of what their balance is.
Existing 3 Pay As You Go customers:

* ThreePay: Customers who joined ThreePay before February 2006, will be migrated to the new 3Pay tariff.

* WePay: Customers on WePay will remain on the tariff and continue to receive WePay rewards. They will also get the text and internet benefits of 3Pay every time they top up.

* Flat12: These customers will continue on Flat12 and be able to Stretch their credit. They will also get the text and internet benefits of 3Pay every time they top up.

Any customer on WePay and Flat12 can migrate at any time to get free 3-to-3 calls on 3Pay, either on My3 online or on their handsets by calling 444.
Liz Richardson, Head of Pay As You Go at 3, says: “So often Pay As You Go customers are overlooked and aren’t offered the same great value packages and perks as those who pay monthly. 3Pay will give customers access to a range of features that will last for 90 days, three-times longer than the other networks. In a groundbreaking move, our freebies don’t stop just because a customer has used up all their credit.

“We want to change mobile forever and with a network designed and built for the Mobile Internet, we can offer our Pay As You Go customers free internet and free internet calls with Skype, not just bog-standard text and talk bundles. All our Pay As You Go customers will get a 150MB mobile internet allowance. That’s enough to check Bebo or Facebook over 100 times, view 200 web pages or send 1,600 twitters, every day for three months.

3Pay seems to be the only plan where the perks last for 90 days, not 30 days like other networks. By topping up from as little as £5 (My3), all 3Pay customers will get the above perks for use over a three month period. There is no need whatsoever to opt-in, call customer services or send a text every time you top-up.
