Microsoft (MSN) has launched an advertising-funded broadband video and TV player website, which is not unlike the BBC's iPlayer, Hulu or even YouTube. The service is due to be officially introduced next week and will include 300+ hours of TV shows and be operated under trial (beta) status.
Video formats will support both Windows Media and FLASH, allowing both Windows PC's and Apple MAC's to be used with the service. Viewers can expect to see shows like Peep Show, Shameless, Ultimate Force and How to Look Good Naked on the site.
The service will be region locked to UK visitors, although it will not make use of Digital Rights Management (DRM) copy protection.
