Broadband.co.uk has released its latest anecdotal monthly broadband speed testing results for July 2009. It shows that the average UK broadband download speed for the largest 10 ISPs has decrease slightly from 4.340Mbps in June to 4.262Mbps in July.
The average upload speed also saw a dip but still managed to remain fairly stable at 0.429Mbps, which is down from 0.433Mbps in June. Virgin Media retains its crown as the fastest broadband ISP for downloads, extending its lead from 6.135Mbps in June to an impressive 6.732Mbps in July. Second place holder O2 ( Be Broadband ) reduced over the same period from 5.632Mbps to 5.308Mbps.

8. Tiscali – 2.81Mbps
9. Eclipse Internet – 2.58Mbps
10. AOL – 2.21Mbps

Happily O2 ( Be Broadband ) remains the fastest UK ISP for upload performance on a completely static result of 0.748Mbps, which so far no other provider has even come close to beating.
