Broadband ISP
ICUK has developed and launched a free broadband usage monitor gadget for their customers, which is designed to work with Microsoft's Windows Vista and Windows 7. Gadgets fit on the Windows Desktop sidebar and usually report details such as today’s weather, time and or other useful bits of information.
The blurb: The gadget, once installed and configured, allows you to view current ICUK ADSL or SDSL download data transfer usage for your connection. The gadget will automatically refresh every 30 minutes ensuring you always have the very latest summary of your connection, ideal for spotting unusual traffic and ensuring you don't exceed your monthly allocation.
Those wanting something similar for different ISPs do have some alternatives, such as the
ISP Monitor Gadget. However the ISP Monitor Gadget also requires the ISP Monitor software package to be installed first (select '
Other' ISP's during the installation. Later you will also need to select your network adapter for the broadband connection via the options).
