Put-Pocketing, that's the name TalkTalk has given to its latest self-promotional broadband ISP marketing scheme, which involves using a team of 20 ex-pickpockets (we kid you not!) around London to put money directly back into the pockets of the British public without them realising. Hmmm.
We must admit to cringing at certain points in the video when one of TalkTalk's shady ex-pickpockets starts putting his hands far too close to private areas. It's not that we wouldn't mind somebody asking nicely and handy us £20 in the street, but that isn’t quite what they appear to be doing. If you happen to have been a victim of Pick Pocketing before then you're likely to punch first and ask questions later.
Still, it's just another one of TalkTalk's "
brighter ideas", we're told. The activity is taking place now in London (Leicester Square, Oxford Circus, Covent Garden, Westminster, Trafalgar Square and The South Bank, as well as the tube network) and will continue until the end of August when it will be rolled out to other UK cities.
