Broadband ISP TalkTalk ( The Carphone Warehouse ) has today announced the forthcoming launch of its new up to 24Mbps ( ADSL2+ ) '
Pro' broadband package, which will cost £14.99 (+£11.25 line rental) per month and offer an unlimited usage allowance over their usual 18 month minimum contract period.
Tristia Clarke from TalkTalk said:
“Once again TalkTalk is challenging the market and providing unbeatable value by offering a premium broadband product at a much lower price than its competitors’ packages. So if you're one of the millions of people who now regularly use your broadband service to download and upload videos and images or stream media around the house, then our high-performance TalkTalk Pro package, giving you the fastest speed your line can handle, is perfect for you."
Customers will also be given a free “N” wireless broadband router (D-Link) modem and free anytime UK calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845 and 0870 numbers. However there is no mention of how much the connection/setup fee will be. Customers interested in signing up to Pro are asked to visit the ISPs website, although at the time of writing there was no mention of the new service (oddly you have to phone them).
TalkTalk's existing default package includes an up to 8Mbps broadband download service with 40GB (GigaByte) monthly usage allowance, telephone line rental, free wireless router and free technical support. The voice side of the product also comes with unlimited calls to any UK landline at evenings and weekends + free local calls, free voicemail and free calls to 0870/0845 numbers at evenings and weekends. This totals £17.74 inc. VAT per month.
