Broadband ISP PlusNet has revamped its range of internet access packages to alter the prices and monthly usage allowances. The final details appear to be exactly as we predicted last month, with the 'Extra' package (replaces 'Premium') in particular offering a smaller 60GB usage allowance (use to be 80GB) but at a lower price (£17.99 for Market 1/2, down from £19.99).
PlusNet typically charges based off Ofcom's "
Market" 1, 2 and 3 classifications. This is directly connected to
BT regulation. For example, customers living in Market 3 areas have plenty of ISP choice and thus services are usually cheaper. Put your phone number into our '
Broadband Coverage Checker' to find out which market your line falls into.

Around 80% of UK homes should be able to get PlusNet's cheaper
Market 3 prices, though the cost for Market 1 and 2 is still low in comparison to most BT based ISPs (those that do not have a cheaper unbundled LLU network). PlusNet's bundled phone and broadband packages have also seen their prices adjusted as a result of the above changes.
