Customers of broadband ISP MetroNet, which is owned by PlusNet UK, have been warned to be on the lookout for a fake customer service email that requests confidential details, specifically your username and password. No reputable internet provider would ever ask you to provide your password in written form.

This Email is from (metronet.co.uk) help desk and we are sending it to every of(metronet.co.uk) Accounts user for safety/maintenance from spam mails. We are having congestions due to the anonymous registration of (metronet.co.uk)accounts so we are shutting down some (metronet.co.uk)accounts and your account was among those to be that needs to be re-updated due to this condition.
We are sending you this email so that you can verify and in order to for safety and maintainance of your account. If you are still interested please confirm your account by filling the space below.Your Username,password,date of birth and your country information would be needed to verify your account.

If you have received this email then MetroNet strongly advises that you to delete or simply ignore it and definitely do not reply. They also suggest not to visit links in any emails you aren't expecting and make sure any anti-virus software on your computer is up to date.
