Broadband access solutions provider
Occam Networks, and network operator
NYnet, have won the award for
Open Access Business Service at the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Awards. The gong was for their joint involvement in deploying a next generation network at Scarborough Business Park; one of the first in the UK to offer bandwidth of over 100Mbps to its customers.
Russ Sharer, Marketing VP of Occam Networks, said:
"We are thrilled to have been recognised for playing an integral role in one of the most innovative open access networks in the world. We also congratulate NYnet, who have ensured that the highest standards of broadband capability continue to be achieved at Scarborough Business Park."
Occam Networks’ BLC 6322 GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) high-port density fibre optic blade handles traffic to and from the business park, with the ability to offer a full array of advanced services, including IPTV.
