Popular ISP Be Broadband has revealed that their much anticipated phone (line rental) service -
BE Landline, which will launch this September 2010, has opened up its preliminary service trial to non-BE members. A recent survey conducted by BE found that 61% did not want to pay BT for their line rental.
Tom Williams, Head of BE Broadband, explained:
"The launch of BE Landline is a response to the demand of our member community. It means that they'll be able to benefit from the great service from BE for both their broadband and landline. There's also the convenience of a single monthly bill and our members should be able to save a little bit of money compared to what they currently pay for a BT line."
Meanwhile existing customers who take the new broadband and phone bundles will also get their first month of service for FREE.
What's will be on offer?
- Basic landline: for those who just need a line for their broadband and don't make many calls
- Evening & Weekends package: make calls when you're home
- Anytime package: call everyone you know (or don't know) in 22 countries
Those interested in taking part in the trial (
BE Landline Trial Signup) – both from BE and those on other ISPs, should send their details in by 9th July 2010. BE will then select just 70 people to take part, who will each get half off the cost of their BE landline package for an entire year. Prices are expected to mirror parent company O2 UK's packages.
