The latest YouGov study of over 2000 UK Mobile Broadband consumers reveals that Three (3) has managed to best its rivals ( Orange , T-Mobile , O2 and Vodafone ) to come TOP in 10 out of the 12 service quality categories. The result appears to vindicate the operators growing internet data investment efforts.
3 Mobile beat its rivals in multiple categories, including among others - Fastest Connection Speeds, Reliability, Billing, Overall Quality of Service, Best Value for Money, Ease of Use and User Satisfaction.
Three’s Director of Mobile Broadband, Joe Parker, said:
"It’s great that our customers have rated us the Number One Mobile Broadband provider in the UK. It is a customer endorsement of the massive investment we have been put into our network over the past two years and the speed at which this programme is developing. The network continues to grow in reach, speed and capacity.
It also shows that what customers value most when it comes to mobile broadband are reliability, speed, coverage, ease of use and great pricing – areas where we excel in the latest YouGov survey."
In past YouGov surveys it has been Orange and or T-Mobile that dominated, but as well as increasing its reach across the UK to more than 95% population coverage for 3G services, Three (3) has also been busy investing to improve data speeds. It seems like that might finally be paying off.
Three currently has the largest share of the UK mobile broadband market - at around 35% - and was one of the first to market with affordable services during 2007/2008. It still has some of the cheapest deals in the market, such as offering 15GB of monthly data for just £15 on longer contract options.
Three’s network has also grown considerably in the past 18-months, moving from 7,500 sites at the end of 2008 to more than 11,400 today. This has been possible due to a network consolidation programme with T-Mobile, which will see their 3G network grow to more than 12,500 sites by the end 2010.
