The Managing Director (MD) of Be Broadband UK, Tom Williams, has announced his intention to leave the ISP for pastures new. Sadly Williams has not revealed when the event would occur or whom his successor might be.
BE Broadband MD, Tom Williams, said:
"The opportunities I’ve been given – especially leading this company - have all been brilliant, and not to get soppy on you, but having been here almost from the very beginning, I’ve got plenty of great memories to take away with me. From rolling out the BE network to getting caught in a snowstorm at the BE Social in Edinburgh, my adventures with the BE team will be tough to forget.
While I’m excited to be moving onto a new challenge, I’ll certainly miss the colleagues I’ve worked with (weird and wonderful bunch they are). But it’s not all woe – I know for a fact they’ll keep Ship BE steering in the right direction. I’ve got every faith in their immense abilities."
Tom has become somewhat of a recognisable face during his 4 year stint at BE's and we're sure that a lot of the providers customers will be sad to see him go. The loss of an MD can often signal a change in focus and we should know more once his replacement is announced. It would be very telling of BE's future if the new MD came from parent operator O2 UK.
