LOVEFiLM UK Launches PlayStation 3 Broadband Movie Service

Posted: 11th Nov, 2010 By: MarkJ
lovefilm uk logoSony has issued a new update for its popular PlayStation 3 (PS3) video games console that allows UK broadband ISP users access to LOVEFiLM's movie rental streaming service, albeit at a cost of at least £5.99 per month (£9.99 for "Unlimited" access).

The icon itself should appear under the PS3's "video" menu/section, although some people may need to perform a quick update and or reboot before it pops up. The app also allows customers to control their existing rentals and comes with a free trial.

However the Standard Definition (SD) quality of LOVEFiLM's video streaming demands a stable internet connection speed of at least 2Mbps. As usual you should check your ISP's broadband package terms and details beforehand, just in case any additional usage restrictions or costs apply. Some films can easily eat up 1GB (GigaByte) or more data without much effort.
