A new broadband ISP and phone provider has quietly slipped its way into the already extremely overcrowded UK internet access market,
CharityTalk. The operator claims it will "
donate up to 50 per cent of [its] profits" to nominated
charities.
As well as offering a separate phone service the provider also has a
broadband and calls bundle, which is currently promoting a
3 Months Free Broadband deal. Prices start from £7.99 per month and further details can be found below.
CharityTalk Broadband and Calls Package
* FREE connection
* FREE plug & play equipment (wired router)
* FREE weekend calls
* FREE broadband for 3 months
* All call charges 10% cheaper than BT
* 10GB Monthly Usage Allowance
* Up to 24Mbps download speeds
* Email anti-virus & spam protection
* UK based, friendly technical support
* 18 Month Contract
Price = £7.99 Per Month (+£12.29 Line Rental)
The price rises to £12.48 for the
AnyTime calls deal, although sadly they only appear to offer a 10GB usage allowance. Customers outside of their 85% unbundled ( LLU ) coverage will also have to pay an extra £5 per month. In addition the router adds an £8 delivery charge.
Once a charity has registered with the ISP, any supporter or member can sign up to the home phone and broadband service, which will enable the charity to receive regular donations. CharityTalk claims to be an independent company, although its website appears to be at least partly supported by business ISP
IZr Solutions.
