ISPreview.co.uk has just completed a
full database update of our various
UK ISP Listings, which covers well over 200 providers, to take account of the recent
Value Added Tax (VAT) hike and other package changes among various providers.
We also
removed approximately 20-30 ISPs that had become stale (i.e. not updated in many.. many years), did not show their prices in public anymore, had malfunctioning websites, were liquidated / closed during H2-2010 and a few that did not meet our free listing rules (
submission rules). It should be noted that several new ISPs were also added.
In particular, since 2008, we have been warning vISPs that those who fail to publish a correct and
legally required postal address on their website would no longer be listed (PO BOX addresses do not count). Two or three vISPs have yet to comply and may now be removed in the future.
As before, ISPreview.co.uk cannot list every package for each ISP because we try to cover all consumer providers in the market, over 200 of them, and for a free website like ours it would be an almost impossible task to keep everything up to date. By contrast most commercial comparison websites list only the largest 6-10 providers.
In the very near future we hope to replace our Mobile Broadband listings with a new system, due largely to the sizable array of unusual package types being offered by mobile operators today. These are difficult to cater for in a linear system.
