The BT network appears to have been struck by another
serious broadband outage on its UK platform today, which affected a significant swathe of locations in the
South East of England. This includes some parts of London.
The issues, which first
started at around 8am this morning (some problems were also being experienced yesterday too), have ranged from a total
loss of ISP connectivity to seriously degraded performance. The cause is unknown and we've read a few conflicting reports from different providers.
Problem Areas (Telephone Exchanges)
Tunbridge Wells
Moorgate
Hastings
Haywards Heath
Eastbourne
Brighton Withdean
New Cross
Littlehampton
Worthing Swandean
Chichester
Lewes
Most BT based ISPs have reported the fault, which predominantly impacted the operators 21CN broadband platform, although some appear to have been unaffected. The good news is that BT has now managed to fix most of the problems, although some locations may still be experiencing difficulties.
A number of more northern and midland areas are also dealing with an apparently unrelated and somewhat isolated disruption to their internet services.
