A popular BBC TV series with topical reports and interviews from around the country,
The One Show, will tomorrow (
Thursday 10th March on BBC1 at 7pm) air a special investigation into the "
real story" behind the controversial UK solicitors firm ACS:Law (Andrew Crossley) and its "
harassment" of broadband ISP customers; those whom it accused of involvement with "
illegal" internet copyright infringement.
ACS:Law, which made its money by "
bullying" customers of broadband ISPs with
dubious settlement demands ("
speculative invoicing") for alleged "
illegal" copyright P2P file sharing activity, have since "
ceased trading" but their legacy continues (
here); the case resumes on the 16th March.
Consumer champion Dominic Littlewood from BBC The One Show has teamed up with
Manchester law firm Ralli to investigate the events surrounding ACS:Law's activity, its ultimate demise and the on-going problems.
Statement from Ralli
Michael Forrester, the solicitor leading the team preparing the group action for consumers alleging harassment against ACS Law, explains in details the complex issues and consumers’ rights following the recent court case criticising the activities of ACS Law and the sole principle Andrew Crossley.
In depth interviews by Dominic Littlewood with two Ralli clients alleging harassment against ACS Law, explain how they received letters accusing them of downloading p*rnography and threatening to take them to court if they did not pay £500.
It should certainly make for some interesting viewing. Once again, the programme is schedule for broadcast tomorrow on BBC1 at 7pm.
