UK ISP
CharityTalk, which claims to "
donate up to 50 per cent of [its] profits" to nominated charities, has partnered with energy provider
Dual Energy to launch a
combined telecommunications and energy service for businesses using smart-metered electricity.
As with the provider’s domestic operations, a percentage of the profits will be donated to local and national charities.
CharityTalk and Dual Energy are also part of the same group and as a result will share single point of contact.
The Managing Director CharityTalk, Owen Bloodworth, said:
"Our goal is to pass on as many benefits to our customers, as well as charities, as possible in these difficult economic times. Partnering with Dual Energy allows us to continue this and expand into the business sector offering an unbeatable and efficient package of telecommunications services and power. Customers can save money on phone, broadband and electricity all while helping some of Britain’s most under-pressure charities.
Even though times are tough, we firmly believe corporations should not ignore their responsibilities towards not-for-profit sector. By giving businesses the chance to support charities with regular donations through our services in a straightforward way we can help forge direct links between charities and the private sector during these straightened times.
In addition, when a business signs up to the service, CharityTalk will immediately donate an extra £250 to the charity of its choice."
CharityTalk is part of
The Comms Factory Group of companies, which includes
24 Talk and
Yourcalls.net. It's broadband and phone platform is also underpinned by TalkTalk (TalkTalk Business).
This is certainly one of the most unique service bundles we've seen, although at the time of writing their website appeared to have no mention of the business service.
