Mobile operator O2 has launched a new range of customisable mobile phone
Pay Monthly tariffs today and enabled
Internet Tethering by default. Tethering allows customers to use their phone like a Mobile Broadband USB Modem (Dongle), making it easier to connect laptops and other computer devices to the internet.
Internet Tethering had previously been available from O2 at an additional charge of £7.65, though it comes built-in (included) with the new tariffs. O2 has also launched shorter 12-month contract options for their existing customers.
As for the new tariffs themselves, instead of offering a set combination of minutes, texts and MBs (MegaBytes') of data, you can now tailor your own tariff to suit you. O2 claims that
70% of all its new customers choose a Smartphone to enjoy the Internet and offers a range of optional
Data Bolt Ons from 100MB (+£3) to 500MB (+£6) and 1GB (+£10) per month.
The 500MB and 1GB options also come with "
Unlimited" Wi-Fi Hotspot access and 20 or 50 free MMS messages respectively.
