Mobile operator Three (3) UK has begun to offer the new
Huawei E367 premium Mobile Broadband USB Modem (Dongle) to customers, which it claims can provide "
improved performance and offers up to 40% faster browsing" thanks to the latest
HSPA+ technology.
The HSPA Evolution / HSPA+ standard promises
maximum theoretical internet download speeds of up to 42Mbps (22Mbps uploads) and Three (3) is currently modernising its network to roll this new technology out. However, capacity constraints and real-world limitations mean that the actual speeds will probably be far lower.
The modem design also
features a rotating head to ensure best performance and access to the operators 3G network. In other words, just like a mini aerial, the dongle can bend to stand vertically, which will help customers access the radio signal.
David Kerrigan, 3's Head of Mobile Broadband, said:
"Huawei has done a great job delivering this superior dongle, in both form and function. Whether browsing the internet, downloading files or streaming video, this dongle delivers an even better internet experience on our 3G network, which is built for mobile internet."
The Huawei E367 is available on 3's PAYG 1GB Ready To Go for £69.99, or on a rolling one month contract for £49.99 upfront and £15.99 per month for 5GB, or with no upfront charge and 15GB for £18.03 per month on a 24 month contract.
Existing customers can also upgrade their current dongles for £59.99. It goes on sale in Three (3) Stores and online from
Thursday April 7th.
