Business internet provider Timico UK has expanded its coverage to include a new range of
Mobile Internet Service Provision (MISP) products, including one (multi-tenant APN connection) that will allow smaller businesses to have their own private mobile networks.
In addition, the company has partnered with Sybase to bring one of the UK's first
cloud-based mobile device management and security services (
Sybase Afaria®) to the small business market.
This will provide businesses with a single administrative console to centrally manage, secure and deploy mobile data, applications and devices. Timico's overall aim with these new services is to target the
growing market for management of Smartphone's and tablets in the business environment.
Timico's Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Trefor Davies, said:
"The partnership with Sybase enables our SMB customers to confidently embrace ISP and cloud technologies and services, while having complete peace of mind that company data is safe and secure.
We are currently experiencing a smartphone explosion and tremendous growth in mobile data usage. The fusion of mobile and internet will therefore continue to demand mobile-specific solutions, especially from a security point of view."
It's noted that Timico's new service will be device Operating System (OS) agnostic and can manage all the main vendor types including Apple's iOS, RIM, Google's Android and Windows Mobile 7. We understand that Timico will base its mobile services off the O2 platform.
