Fasthosts Finally Modernises with its New UK Business Broadband ISP Packages

Posted: 09th Apr, 2011 By: MarkJ
fasthosts uk isp logoFasthosts (Fasthosts Internet Ltd), a well known if not always well liked UK based web host and ISP, has finally announced a new range of 'up to' 24Mbps (ADSL2+) broadband and 'up to' 40Mbps superfast (FTTC) broadband internet access packages.

Steve Holford, Marketing Director for Fasthosts, said:

"Many businesses prefer a one-stop-shop approach to buying their Internet services. For some, that means making-do with either sub-standard hosting or ADSL bolted-on by their ISP. With Fasthosts firms can benefit from truly business-class broadband alongside high performance and award-winning UK hosting services".

Until recently the best business broadband service offered by the provider was a seemingly overpriced and considerably out of date 2Mbps ADSL service, although it did claim to have an "unlimited" download allowance.

Mercifully somebody at Fasthosts has finally had the good sense to drag their packages into the modern age and has therefore launched a range of new services, most of which still feature an "unlimited" usage allowance. A 12 month contract term also applies.

It's worth pointing out that the "unlimited" usage allowance is flanked by an Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP), although this typically refers to good behaviour style breaches (i.e. people caught hacking, spamming etc.) rather than usage limitations. There is a vague warning about restrictions to service speeds but the AUP itself does not appear to impose any Fair Usage Policy (FUP) style limits.
