Hyperoptic, a new urban focused / residential and business ISP offering symmetrical
1Gbps (Gigabits per second) capable fibre optic ( FTTH ) broadband internet access products and online television ( IPTV ) services, has confirmed that it will start deploying its platform to large residential buildings and offices across the UK in
September 2011.
The ISP, which is run by two of the original founders from popular internet provider Be Broadband UK (
Boris Ivanovic and
Dana Pressman Tobak), has also just appointed
Brian Doherty as its Director of Sales and Marketing.
Hyperoptic's new Director of Sales and Marketing, Brian Doherty, said:
"This is an incredible team to be part of and it’s a thrill for me to be joining at this critical time in the roll-out of fibre optic in the UK. We know that with technology moving so quickly – both in the home and work environment – consumers are looking for ways they can get the most out of it. The affordable, super-fast connectivity that Hyperoptic’s offer enables is central to the next chapter in the UK’s broadband journey."
Also joining the Hyperoptic team is
Shyam Acharya, another Be veteran. Acharya will assume the role of Network Architect and take responsibility for designing the fibre-based deployment of their network in
London (first rollout phase) and other cities across the UK.
Hyperoptic’s MD, Dana Pressman Tobak, told ISPreview.co.uk:
"We’re delighted to be making these talented additions to the team. Not only are Brian and Shyam leading market players but they are genuinely passionate about what the Hyperoptic brand encapsulates; pushing broadband limits that bit further to deliver real change in the way people connect with technology every day.
This is about making technology that is a standard in other countries available to consumers and businesses in the UK, ensuring they don’t miss out on the potential fibre optic offers. Brian and Shyam will be pivotal to taking this to the next level with our proposition."
The ISP intends to offer a range of package speeds (Hyper-Light 20Mbps, Hyper-active 100Mbps and Hyper-sonic 1Gbps). Customers can also expect "
unlimited" downloads (Fair Usage Policy), a static IPv4 address, an IPv6 address, a HyperHub wireless-n router free 24/7 support and VoIP / IPTV service options. No BT line will be required and
prices have yet to be revealed.
