Kidderminster based UK ISP
SO Internet, which also specialises in internet content filtering solutions, has today put its weight behind the governments new
Code of Practice that requires four of the markets largest providers to give customers (parents) a forced option to
block adult websites at the point of purchase (
original news).
Paul Sillars, Director of So Internet, said:
"We have developed close relationships with our customers over years and understand what they want from our technology. I’m a family man as well as a business man and obviously I see the need to protect my own kids from stumbling on some terrible stuff while innocently browsing the web. We’re not just providing a filtering solution in exchange for customer’s cash, we really care about keeping families and business out of harm’s way."
We suspect that the cash is nice too. So Internet also claims that its off the shelf and bespoke technology is able to be very specific and can just as easily block content related to violence and hate as witnessed on some extreme websites.
