Supermarket chain Tesco appears to have tweaked its latest internet access promotions to
mask a slight price rise in Phone Line Rental by offering
broadband from just £2.50 a month for 12 months (£6.50 thereafter).
A Tesco Spokesperson said:
"We're sharing the love this Valentine's day by offering loyal customers this unbeatable offer. It's our Valentine's gift to the Tesco families out there, we hope it goes some way to lightening the financial load this year."
The offer, which is largely unchanged from the one they began promoting in November last year (
here), is only available to those that hold a
Tesco Clubcard. The special offer code of "
HALFBB-C" must also be quoted during signup.

Tesco Broadband with inclusive anytime calls

MONTHLY PRICE: £2.50 + £4.50 Anytime Calls + £13.75 Line Rental (Total: £20.75)
Upon closer inspection it's clear there have been a few changes since the offer began last year. The broadband price has been cut from £4 to £2.50 (-£1.50), yet line rental has gone up from £11.75 to £13.75 (+£2). The 'Anytime' calls now also cost £4.50 instead of £4 (+£0.50) on the second package.
As a result the two packages are now a little more expensive than last November 2011, although to mitigate that Tesco are offering 3 Clubcard points for every £1 you spend instead of 1 point for every £1.
