UK ISP TalkTalk has come top in Ofcom's latest table of the most complained about fixed line phone and broadband providers, with Three (3) coming up worst for mobile operators. By contrast both Virgin Media and O2 won praise for receiving the least complaints.

BT has confirmed that it will not deploy Seamless Rate Adaptation (SRA) technology to improve the performance of its ADSL2+ based broadband ISP services in the UK, although it is using an alternative method called Quantisation. Techno babble time.

Alcatel-Lucent has announced the commercial launch of a new technology, VDSL2 Vectoring, which could be used in the UK and other countries to push FTTC based superfast broadband ISP service speeds up to and beyond 100Mbps.

The UK government has finally corrected their target speed for superfast broadband services, which until recently had been stated as 20Mbps on their Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) office glossary. However the benchmark was actually raised to 25Mbps in May 2011 and this has now been reflected in a snap update.

BT has today launched the UK version of OnLive's cloud-based internet video game streaming service, which allows the ISPs broadband customers to remotely play the latest PC, PlayStation 3 and XBox 360 games without needing to own them.
