The state aid supported £9.6m Northernlincs Broadband project has named the first communities to benefit from the roll-out of BT’s “high-speed fibre broadband” (FTTC/P) network, which aims to cover 92% of North and North East Lincolnshire in East England by spring 2015.
Phase One of the deployment, which has now begun, is expected to be completed by September 2014 and will benefit from last year’s additional funding boost of £1.2 million (here). As usual BT will predominantly focus upon rolling out their up to 80Mbps capable Fibre-to-the-Cabinet (FTTC) technology.
