uSwitch 2015 Awards Name Virgin Media UK Best Broadband Provider

Friday, January 30th, 2015 (2:47 pm) - Score 4,051

The annual uSwitch.com Broadband Awards 2015, which took place last night at The Gherkin in London, have unveiled a variety of winners across multiple categories for broadband, TV, phone and mobile services. Top among the winners was Virgin Media, which took three awards for Best Customer Rated Broadband, Fastest Broadband and Best Broadband Provider.

Apparently the winners were voted on by 3,000 consumers – in a OnePoll survey conducted during December 2014 (including some input from uSwitch’s own broadband speed testing system) – and a judging panel of eight journalists, although the link that’s supposed to reveal who the journalists are currently redirects back to uSwitch’s awards page. In any case the results are as follows.

uSwitch.com Broadband Awards 2015 – Winners

Category Judged by Winner
Best Broadband Provider Judges, consumers, speed test data Virgin Media
Best Customer Service Consumers Plusnet
Best Value Home Broadband Consumers Plusnet
Best TV Provider Consumers TalkTalk
Best Broadband & Home Phone Consumers Plusnet
Best Broadband, TV & Home Phone Consumers Sky (Sky Broadband)
Best Customer Benefits Judges EE
Best Broadband Innovation Judges Relish
Best TV Streaming Service Judges Netflix
Best Customer Rated Broadband Speed test data Virgin Media
Fastest Mobile Broadband Speed test data EE
Fastest Broadband Speed test data Virgin Media

However it should be said that the original nominees list for the uSwitch awards only includes the markets largest providers, which is perhaps to be expected given how uSwitch doesn’t appear to list any smaller ISPs on their website. We would have also liked to see some detail and rational for how the various results were arrived at.

lol I wonder where these get these answers because I don’t believe any of it as for plusnet well that’s a first even tho its rubbish and ic talk talk was mentioned but didn’t win broadband well it says it all and sky is useless also .

Is this the same uSwitch as in uswitch.co.uk? If so, you can forget about them. Their website is hopelessly wrong. For example, on its broadband checker I typed in a postcode of a town which has no fibre-optic nor VDSL broadband at that postcode area, yet it comes up with various VDSL offers.

In short, stay away from these cowboys!

Virgin Media best broadband provider? What a f**king joke! Since my parent had the new super hub installed months ago, they have connection problems every single day. VM have been unable to resolve the issue after 5 engineer visits and countless phone call. Now, this weekend the whole area has had no TV or broadband at all. Two whole days with nithing, and the fix time keeps getting extended (it now says 4pm Monday). That’s f**king dreadful for a service that my OAP parents pay £100 a month for…

Apologies for the typos above, I’m no good at typing on my phone. I’m at my parents at the moment, I would have typed my comment on their computer, but I couldn’t, what with them having no internet connection at the moment…

Well done to Virgin another win for them with some which are supposed to have less latency and congestion according to ONE on here nowhere to be seen. LOL
