UPD Sky Broadband and Phone Suffers Service Outage in South London

Customers of Sky Broadband in South London have been starved of funny cat videos for the past hour after a vital underground fibre optic cable broke and knocked out both local Internet and phone (Sky Talk) services.

Ofcom to Free 25MHz of the 700MHz Band for UK Mobile Broadband

The telecoms regulator has today launched a new consultation on their plan to re-purpose 25MHz of spectrum in the 700MHz band, which is currently used by Digital Terrestrial TV services, and make it available for use by Mobile Broadband (4G and possibly 5G) in time for Q2 2020.

Quickline Complete Wireless Broadband Pilot in North Lincolnshire

Fixed wireless ISP Quickline has confirmed that they’ve completed the roll-out of their alternative 50Mbps capable superfast wireless broadband network in northern Lincolnshire (East England), which is being funded by £2m of state aid from the Government’s Broadband Delivery UK project.
