Troubled Kent-based broadband and phone provider True Telecom, which entered administration in November 2017 (here), has found a buyer for its customer base but not the company itself. The administrators report also reveals that HMRC sought £722,916 from the company as part of a winding-up petition.

The next generation of WiFi or Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) equipped broadband ISP routers and devices will benefit from a new security protocol called Wi-Fi Protected Access III (WPA3), which should eventually replace the WPA2 standard that has helped to keep networks encrypted since 2004.

Energy provider First Utility has launched a new sale that will run until 22nd January 2018 and cuts the monthly price of their ‘up to’ 38Mbps and 76Mbps superfast broadband (FTTC) and phone bundle packages to £27.99 and £29.99 per month respectively for new customers.

Shropshire-based UK ISP Aquiss has kicked off the New Year by knocking a few extra ££ pounds off the standard monthly rental prices for their ‘up to’ 19Mbps ADSL2+ based broadband packages (this also applies to bundles with phone line rental), which forms part of a general product refresh.
