Sky (Sky Broadband) has today signed an extension agreement with Netflix’s popular internet video streaming service, which we assume means that customers will continue to have the option of adding Sky’s Ultimate On Demand (UOD) service to Sky Q for an extra £12 a month (includes seamless integration of Netflix into one bill).
The UOD isn’t just about Netflix though as you also get access to hundreds of Sky TV’s on-demand Box Sets, but there is one key change under the new deal. Previously customers with a Sky Q Entertainment subscription could expect to get Netflix’s Standard plan (2 HD streams) and Sky Box Sets in HD, while anybody with the premium Sky Q Experience (multi-room viewing and Ultra HD) would get Netflix’s Premium plan (4 Ultra HD / 4K streams). Under the new agreement Netflix’s cheapest Basic Plan will “soon” also be supported (details yet to be announced).
The CEO of Sky UK and Ireland, Stephen van Rooyen, said: “This is a great start to what is set to be another strong year for Sky. Our customers love Netflix content and our partnership continues to go from strength to strength, we plan to launch new channels and genres, start building our new studio, Sky Studios Elstree, and we’ll have great new and returning Sky originals too. This year our customers will have access to even more great content – all in one place.”
Yes basic i but if f you have Q experience and either a 1TB or a 2TB box you get the top UHD package
