UK ISP Zzoomm, which hopes to cover 1 million homes with a 10Gbps capable Fibre-to-the-Premises (FTTP) broadband network by the end of 2025 (here), has teamed-up with a locally developed Henley business – Keep In Touch (KIT) – to provide VoIP based internet phone calls to any customer.
The provider began their “full fibre” roll-out in the Oxfordshire town of Henley-on-Thames last September 2019 via their own in-house team of newly trained and locally sourced field engineers (here), which finally went live in January 2020 (here). Assuming Zzoomm holds to their original plan then we could expect to see 6,800 premises being covered across the town by the second half of 2020.
The ISP has now added Voice-over-IP (VoIP) support to their network as part of a new partnership with KIT, although they haven’t yet said if they’ll charge less than the company already does directly to offer this service (prices from £9 per month upwards). “[KIT offers] an affordable and more reliable telephone line replacement while retaining your home number,” said Zzoomm.
